Threaded as in impersonal indented replies? I dunno. I kinda like the power of the @ symbol on M[C]S. It’s either precious validation or infuriating trollbait. Sets some decent conversations in play, at least.
Indented replies allow you to more clearly reply to a specific post, even when the poster has posted multiple comments. Also, if the threaded comments system allows you to hide posts, it is easy to hide an entire discussion that you do not want to read.
